What's going on with me?

Today, after our 4am wake up, Nick and I headed down to the Tsujiki Fish Market for breakfast. Let's just start out by saying, FANTASTIC! It's all about chef's choice, and the fish was ridiculously fresh. They were cleaning fish right behind the sushi bar. We were the only non-Japanese braving the bar, most others seemed to go upstairs to an area of tables. We wandered around Ginza for a while, went to the Sony building and saw their showroom, and tried out some hardcore headphones: I found it interesting that these things were too big for MY head, much less the typical person here who tends to be much smaller. It'd be like Princess Leia on steroids. We stopped in a coffee shop to use the restroom and had a couple small drip coffees. I asked whether they took credit cards and the cashier clearly stated her answer of 'NO' while shaking her hand at me with such fury a passer-by would likely assume I'd offered her a dirty syringe. Greetings from Tokyo! Nick and I have arrived and so far, so good. Up at 4am local time, gotta love the international date line! Our flight from Boston to NYC was eventful, Nick seated next to a Ghanian prophet who apparently had two of his fingers change to black/white just days before the Obama/Biden election! This was confirmed by his immaculate business card, which is of course, a fold out with pictures. I was seated next to a man smelling of booze from his binge the night before who could not control his own spit when speaking. I'm assuming he's a bit more charming when not still drunk from the night before. We got here at about 5pm local time on Thursday, settled into our hotel, and then hit a small 'diner' near by where we had some really tasty dumplings and noodles. People seem receptive to our attempts at Japanese and are very willing to help which is great. I'd forgotten that smoking is allowed in public here, which is just kind of weird as it's been b...
